What Is Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal is a non-invasive treatment.  It utilizes a concentrated beam of laser energy to target the pigment in hair follicles. Once absorbed in the pigment of hair bulb, it damages the hair follicle while preserving surrounding skin.

Hair growth occurs in a four-phase cycles. Laser beam works the best when hair is in its active growth phase. Because not all hairs are in the same phase at the same time, multiple sessions are required for optimal results.

Most patients require 6–8 treatments, spaced several weeks apart, to achieve significant long-term hair reduction.

How Many Treatments are needed?

It is individual based. For most areas 6-8 treatments are needed. Thicker hair may need more sessions. Gradual hair reduction becomes noticeable after the first few sessions, with smoother skin developing over time.

How far apart should the sessions be?

The sessions should be 6-8 weeks apart. This time allows hair to get into active phase of their growth cycle where laser is more effective. We do not recommend sessions sooner than 6 weeks. As the hair gets thinner, the duration between sessions gets longer.

Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?

Laser hair removal provides long-term hair reduction, but it is not considered 100% permanent. Many patients experience significant reduction in hair growth, with occasional maintenance sessions recommended over time.
